Blog Post and Comment Policy

Welcome to SmartRegion.org, the blog for all things Hampton Roads. We hope you find our blog a useful way to learn and discuss topics about Hampton Roads. We encourage "guest blogging," too. All references to comments to follow apply to our guest bloggers and links to other blogs, as well.

One of the most satisfying and useful metrics for a blog is whether posts generate conversation in the form of comments and the quality of the comments. With increased traffic and visibility comes increased interaction and value for everyone.

In continuing efforts to engage the citizens of Hampton Roads in a positive way, we welcome all commenters, from all perspectives, and encourage opinions and debate. It is not the intent of SmartRegion.org to "manage the message," because it serves the greater good to encourage people to get involved. Trust-building is an important component of civic engagement, for citizens and for elected officials alike.

Please read the complete Policy prior to submitting your comment.

Anonymous comments are not accepted. Your full, actual name and valid email address must be supplied prior to posting.

In order to maintain this site as a positive, trusted and useful resource, it's important that all members of the community treat one another with respect. To that end: we reserve the right to remove names and identifying titles from comments that could potentially be defamatory, insulting or offensive in order to maintain the positive, region-building nature of this blog.

This is a moderated blog -- we review all comments before posting them. We will not post comments that contain vulgar language, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive terms that target specific individuals or groups. We will not post comments that are clearly off-topic, promote services or products, or infringe on copyrights. Comments that make unsupported accusations will also not be posted.

We recognize that the Web is a 24/7 medium, and your comments are welcome at any time. Comments submitted after hours or on weekends will be read and posted as early as possible. While we welcome your comments, we will not respond to every question or comment.

Press Questions
We ask that reporters send questions to the Communication Manager through the HRP website at www.HRP.org and refrain from submitting questions as comments. We will not post questions from reporters.
